Day 01: Arrive Cairo- Free Day Upon arrival at Cairo Airport, you will be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel. Check-in begins at 2:00 PM. Take time to relax and recover from jet lag, enjoy a nice meal at your hotel, or explore the city at your own pace. Interested in the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)? While its official opening date is yet to be announced, parts of the museum are open. There is an optional guided visit to the museum, where you’ll see the relocated obelisk, the colossal statue of Ramses II, and statues from the Ptolemaic era. Begin at the iconic Great Sphinx of Giza before marveling at the Great Pyramid of Khufu, once the tallest structure in the world. Continue to the pyramids of Chephren and Mycerinus, then visit Memphis and the Saqqara Step Pyramid, the first great stone monument in history. Enjoy lunch during the tour.
